Cape Town, South Africa. Africa’s industrial transformation takes a decisive step forward this May with the launch of the inaugural Africa Automation Indaba 2026, a landmark conference dedicated to advancing automation, process control, and manufacturing across the African continent. The event takes place on Wednesday and Thursday, 13 and 14 May 2026, at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront, Cape Town.
We are pleased to invite industry stakeholders to this premier gathering, which will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, investors, engineers, government officials, and technology solution providers who are actively shaping Africa’s industrial future. Over two transformative days, the Indaba will serve as a powerful platform for meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, connecting decision makers with the ideas and technologies redefining Africa’s industrial trajectory.
Delegates can expect high-impact keynote addresses, expert panel discussions, and focused fireside conversations exploring smart manufacturing, Industrial Internet of Things, digitalisation, policy and regulation, investment readiness, skills development, and sustainable industrial ecosystems. The programme is designed to address both the opportunities and realities of automation in Africa, while unlocking pathways for inclusive and competitive growth.
The keynote lineup features some of Africa’s most respected thought leaders. Professor Thuli Madonsela, former Public Protector of South Africa, will address ethical leadership and responsible innovation. Renowned futurists Mitch Ilbury and Pieter Geldenhuys will challenge delegates to think strategically about Africa’s automation future, while leading technology analyst Arthur Goldstuck provides a data-driven overview of automation and AI readiness across the continent. Additional insights will be shared by Jean Pierre Murray Kline, Jessie Ndaba, and development economist Dr Horman Chitonge.
Beyond thought leadership, the Africa Automation Indaba offers a highly curated networking and business environment, enabling direct engagement between solution providers, investors, and decision makers.
