African Bank appoints Nomusa Ndwandwe as Group Chief Audit Executive, bringing 20 years of experience to strengthen governance and assurance.

African Bank has announced the appointment of Nomusa Ndwandwe as its new Group Chief Audit Executive, strengthening the Bank’s leadership team with her extensive experience in governance, risk and assurance.

Ndwandwe brings over 20 years of auditing expertise, developed across some of South Africa’s leading financial institutions. She joins African Bank from FirstRand, where she served as Head of Internal Audit: Corporate & Institutional, overseeing a large audit team across several international territories and driving a robust internal audit strategy.

In her new role, Ndwandwe will lead the Group Internal Audit function, ensuring effective risk-based assurance and governance processes across the African Bank Group. Her mandate includes delivering the internal audit programme that supports the Bank’s strategic mission and enhances organisational value.

A Certified Information Systems Auditor, Ndwandwe holds a Master of Business Administration and Postgraduate Diploma in Management from WITS University, as well as a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from the University of Johannesburg.

Her appointment underscores African Bank’s commitment to strong governance, accountability, and operational excellence as it continues to expand its footprint in South Africa’s financial sector.
