The National ECD Alliance (NECDA) is excited to announce its first annual conference and AGM, themed “Unity in Diversity Under the African Sky.” The event will take place on 7-8 August and will bring together key stakeholders in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector to strengthen partnerships and advance the professionalization of the industry.
The conference will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers, including esteemed guests such as representative from the National Department of Basic Education, UNICEF, ETDP SETA, CIPPT, HOPE worldwide SA, Sesame Workshop International South Africa, Do More Foundation, ICDP Trust Lebone Centre, Grassroots, TREE, Cotlands, and Brand Boss.
The event will delve into critical topics shaping the ECD landscape, including:
- Strengthening Partnerships for a Professionalised Skills Sector: Exploring collaborative efforts to elevate the ECD workforce.
- Friend Raising Before Fundraising: Leveraging collective strengths to drive sustainable growth.

A gala dinner will be held on the evening of the first day to celebrate the ECD sector’s achievements and foster networking opportunities.

The National Early Childhood Development Alliance (NECDA) is an Early Childhood Development (ECD) focused network, comprising of ECD Resource and Training Organisations and Sector Experts. Member organisations and experts are united in their objective to provide capacity building, high quality training and resources for the ECD Sector. NECDA currently represents and serves 120 member organisations across nine provinces of South Africa. NECDA was formed in 2005 in response to a dire need to capacitate the ECD sector.
