The African Agri Council (AAC) introduces a prime opportunity for bankable projects: the Investment Discovery Sessions (IDS), a key feature of the African Agri Investment Indaba.
The AAC seeks projects committed to transformation, sustainability, and scalability in the African food and agriculture sector. The focus is on the projects’ current merits as well as their potential to foster growth, create impact, and enhance the industry. A special emphasis is placed on initiatives dedicated to promoting fair, traceable, and regenerative value chains.
This opportunity allows project owners to gain valuable feedback, ensure alignment with investor expectations, and potentially position their projects more strategically for success.
Basic project criteria include:
- Investment required: (USD$50,000 – USD$250,000 / USD$250,000 – USD$1,000,000 / USD$1,000,000 and over)
- Have 3 years minimum historical pattern of achievement
- Show capital efficiency during the last 12 months
- Demonstrate market opportunity
- Sound business plan

ABOUT THE AFRICA AGRI INVESTMENT INDABA
The 6th Annual African Agri Investment Indaba (AAII), to be held from 20 – 22 November 2023 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town, is the global meeting place for food and agriculture investment in Africa. The Agri Indaba brings together over 900 key stakeholders – from governments, banks, financiers, investors, project owners, project developers, commercial farmers and the agro-processing industry – to discuss trends that will likely influence food and agribusiness economics over the next decade in Africa.
AAII was developed to address current trends influencing investors’ confidence in African agriculture; it covers various facets within the agribusiness sector in Africa and globally with a specific focus on creating a voice for investment ready agricultural projects, policy makers, agribusinesses as well as bringing structure and efficiency in connecting investors and financiers with food and agricultural opportunities in Africa. The 6th edition will feature the DFI Forum, Banking & Microfinance In Agribusiness Forum, high level policy discussions, Investment Discovery Sessions, strategic closed sessions and unlimited networking.
