Volvo Trucks South Africa announced its top performing dealers, who as part of a greater nationwide network, excelled at supporting fleet customers during the uncertain times these past few years.
The Mega Dealer of the Year award went to Volvo Truck & Bus Centre Gauteng, while independent dealer, Magnis Trucks Zululand walked away with top honours in the Medium Dealer of the Year category. Volvo Truck & Bus Beaufort West won the Small Dealer of the Year category.
“We are proud of all our dealer teams and what they have accomplished amidst challenging local and global business and economic conditions,” said Waldemar Christensen, MD of Volvo Trucks South Africa. “That is why we will continue to develop and adapt our products and services to create value for our customers, no matter the circumstances, and to support sustainable societies and the wellbeing and safety of people.”
The company has 19 dealers and service sites across the country, and Volvo Trucks is celebrating its 22nd year in South Africa in 2022. It has assembly facilities in Durban and currently has four extra heavy truck ranges available, namely the FH16, FH, FM and FMX.
According to the Naamsa (National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa), at the end of April 2022, Volvo Trucks secured a leading 21.3% market share in the extra heavy commercial vehicle segment within the combined South African and Southern African Customs Union markets for the year-to-date.
“Our commitment does not stop when we hand over the keys. In fact, it’s just the beginning,” commented Christensen. “We believe in staying close to our customers throughout their trucks’ lifecycles, knowing their business and unique requirements, and delivering services and support that optimise their fleets’ performance and success.”
